Update
Submitted By Duke Rupert on Sunday, November 15, 2020
Hello Members,We’d like to issue our sincere thanks to our members for remaining patient with this challenging season of hockey. We understand that so much is still unknown and we appreciate your patience and understanding that we are volunteers doing the best we can to keep the season moving forward in a very trying situation.

Fundraising
We have been issued a lottery license and are currently waiting on the printing of the calendars. As soon as we receive the calendars we will get them distributed to you. Our association relies heavily on these fundraising dollars to cover our annual costs and keep our registration fees more affordable to our members.

Games / Ice Time
At this time teams are permitted to play within a bubble of 50 players. It is at the discretion of the coaching staff who and when these games will occur. Bubbles must be submitted and approved by OWHA before any games begin. The executive met with all coaching staff on Oct 27th to discuss the policies and protocols surrounding game play. Please reach out to your coach if you have specific game play questions.

Ice is currently $145 per hour. This fee is non-negotiable as it is a discounted rate for minor hockey associations. We are grateful to both Ingersoll and Zorra for freezing the annual price inflation (2%) for this season. We understand it is trying times for many members but we must remember that townships, business and individuals alike are all affected. Please note there are some programs available to assist families in need. If you require more information please contact us at [email protected].

Fees
Our registration fees this year were based solely on ice time and associated administrative fees (website, banking fees, OWHA fees, lottery license, calendar printing, quickbooks, trainer supplies, bench staff insurance). We were able to fundraise enough funds to cover our deficit from the 2018/19 season; bottle drive $1,899, donations $1300. Due to COVID times, we lost a significant amount of our sponsorship which directly affects our annual fees as well.

Fees for the second half will be finalized at our monthly executive meeting Tuesday Nov 17th. We can guarantee that fees will not increase for the second half. With increasing COVID cases and forever changing OWHA protocol we decided to wait to finalize fees to ensure we are keeping registration affordable for members and ensuring our association costs are covered.

Keeping Up-to-Date
As mentioned we, the executive, are all volunteers doing the best we can to keep our members informed. We meet every month and always post our minutes on our website. We invite you all to read through these documents and reach out with any questions and/or concerns you may have.

Again, thank you all for understanding and being patient. Our goal is to ensure we maintain the safety of our members to keep the girls on the ice. Please do not hesitate to reach out at any time. We appreciate your input and encourage your involvement in our small but mighty association.

Thank you and stay safe,
Robin
