Atom C Brings Home Silver
Submitted By Kerry Garton on Monday, January 29, 2018
The Atom C team traveled to Orangeville this past weekend to participate in the 40th Annual Orangeville Sweetheart Tournament.

Our first game was Friday at 1pm vs Nepean Wildcats, we held them off until the third when they were able to get one past our outstanding goalie Tegan Purcell with 4 minutes left in the third period. The girls would fight hard but ended up losing that game 1-0.
We would face Mt. Forest Rams next at 4:30pm with a well played game by all. The first period was a quiet one, we opened up the second period hard and fast with the only goal of the game 43 seconds into the period by Reesor Steele and assisted by Charlotte deWit.
Our third and final round robin game would see us face Clearview Ice Cats at 8am Saturday morning. This game was also a nail biter with no scoring in the first and second periods and most of the third until two minutes left in the game Hailey Garton scored assisted by Kelly Verhoeven and Alyssa Power. That would put us into the Finals vs Nepean Wildcats.
The finals were a hard fought game but unfortunately we came up short with a 4-0 lost to Nepean. We came home with silver medals and big smiles:) It was an awesome weekend of hockey, friends, family and fun!!!
